We would all be aware that the government has just band the sale of the common death lily (Zantedeschia Aethiopia) either as a cut flower or pot plant, and to pick the flower or dig up the rhizomes is now illegal. Luckily we have found a range of Zantedeschia Rehmannii that we are able to produce and sell. These species are non invasive and come in a large range of colors and are now part of our wide distinguishable product range; as one of our newest additions these are called the Unforgettable Callas.

Using a premier source we present the sophisticated, tough and wonderfully long lasting Unforgettable Calla.  Zantedeschia is a genus of twenty eight different species of flowering plants in the family Arecea. Naturally from southern Africa, south Africa through to Malawi. The name to the genus was named as a tribute to Italian botanist Giovanni Zantedeschia. Common names include Arum lily, Calla, Calla Lily, and are rhizomatous herbaceous perennials.

The flowers are produced in a spadix, with large brightly colored bracts surrounding the inflorescence. These plants truly are stunning and will color up any situation be it in the house or garden. A must have plant if you want to sophisticate your room or occasions and certainly a focal point where ever they a placed.


Zantedeschia grow naturally in marshy areas although they are very hardy and adapt quickly able to grow in many soil types and habitats. Calla’s are extremely versatile and will perform in many situations, we recommend keeping the plant inside as a feature as they are very long lasting and will draw attention as a feature to any room. When the plant starts to look tired it is best placed outside in the garden in a cool location in a shaded area.  Strong but indirect sunlight with an optimum temperature of around 21 degrees Celsius suits them best. Watering should be done 2-3 times a week in spring and summer and 1-2 times a week in winter. Fertilizer should be ¼ diluted and can be given around every 3rd to 4th watering. If in an indoor situation watering once a week is ideal.

Remove flower stalk when they being to hang or darken and be sure to cut as low down as possible without cutting the leaf or ripping the stem. Calla should also be kept well clear for heating or cooling vents and high air flow areas. These plants will die down during the hot months of summer but do not panic as with most bulbous products they will come back again once the cooler weather sets in.
