The versatile indoor plant Hedera helix ivy, commonly known as English ivy, is valued for its attractively shaped, deep green leaves. The plant exists in a large number of varieties, including "Gold Heart," which displays green and creamy yellow leaves, or "Buttercup," with leaves that are bright yellow in sunlight and pale green in shade.

Hedera helix thrives in bright, indirect light. It can also tolerate low light conditions, but its growth might slow down. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Use a well-draining potting mix to prevent root rot.
